A. POLICY It is the policy of the El Portal Police Department that any offense, which may require follow-up either immediately or at a later date, be reported by means of an Offense Report. Any incident where a member’s actions result in or allegedly result in an injury or death to another person shall be reported on the appropriate form. All reports involving a felony or non-traffic misdemeanor will be completed on an offense/supplement report form. B. ALL INCIDENTS REQUIRE AN OFFENSE INCIDENT REPORT (O.I.R.) (i.e. Arrest, AOA’s, All Dispatched Calls for Service etc.) 1. When an officer is dispatched to assist medical personnel on a medical emergency in which the victim is not in a life threatening condition a report shall be required unless certain exigent circumstances are present. 2. AOA with another police agency when requested, if the officer does not take any police action.
