POLICY 111.0 MEDIA PHOTOGRAPHY REVISED: 11/2011 RELATED POLICIES: REVIEWED BY CHIEF DAVID MAGNUSSON 4/2019 A.CRIME SCENE 1.Photographs by the news media outside the physical crime scene area cannot be restricted as provided by law. 2.Media photography inside the physical crime scene may be allowed as long as it does not affect the investigation, crime scene preservation, public order, and only after authorization from the officer in charge of the investigation. B.PERSONS IN CUSTODY 1.Photography of any individual who is in the custody of this Department by the news media will not be authorized within the secure areas of the Police Department Building. Federal prisoners in the custody of this Department may be photographed by the news media only with authorization by the arresting Federal Agency. 2.When escorting a prisoner outside the facilities of this Department photographing by the news media cannot be restricted. However, no prisoner will be posed for the purpose of picture taking by the media. Page 1 of 1
