University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 9.4 Collection and Preservation of Evidence: Organization and Administration 9.4.1 Requirements for Crime Scene Processing (Revised: 5/22/23 ) A. Response to calls for service where a crime has been committed that may involve physical evidence requires that such evidence be collected promptly and submitted for analysis without delay. B. The Department will maintain sufficient numbers of trained Evidence and Records Technicians or officers to provide for shift or on -call availa bility of crime scene processing on a 24 -hour basis.
