9.2 Collection and Preservation of Evidence
9.2.4 Evidence Processing Equipment Availability (Revised: x/x/xx )
A. The UCSF Police Department maintains all marked police vehicles and the Property and
Evidence Technicians' vehicle with equipment for processing crime scenes in an effective
and timely manner. The equipment maintained in each vehicle is to be utilized for the
following purposes:
1. Recovery of latent fingerprints
2. Photography
3. Crime scene sketches
4. Collection and preservation of physical evidence.
B. Equipment , such as ladders, lights and generators , is available from the SFFD.
C. Additional specialized evidence processing equipment is available, as needed, from the
Investigations Unit and the Property and Evidence Technicians.
