8.5 Records: Operations
8.5.17 Public Crime Log (Clery Crime Log) (Revised: 1/6/25 )
In conformance with the Higher Education Act 20 United States Code §1092 (f) (3) (otherwise
known as the Clery Act), the Crime Analyst will make available to the public a daily, online log
of all criminal activity taking place on Clery Act geography and in locations within the patrol
jurisdiction of UCSF Police Department. The patrol jurisdiction includes any property that does
not meet any of the Clery Act geographic area definitions but which is regularly provided with
police or security patrol services b y the UCSF Police Department.
A. The log will consist of crimes reported to the UCSF Police Department and will
document the following:
1. Nature of the crime
2. Date and time of the incident
3. Date and time reported
4. General location of the crime
5. Disposition of the complaint, if known.
The Daily Crime Log shall contain reported crime s for the most recent 60 -day period .
Any addition s to an entry or change in the disposition of a complaint shall be recorded
within two business days of the i nformation being reported to the UCSF P olice
Department .
B. The Crime Analyst shall update the log every business day , on the UCSF Police
Department website.
C. The log shall be retained for seven years.
