7.2 Fire Evacuation Policy: Law Enforcement Building
7.2.2 Fire Safety (Revised: 2/ 16/17)
A. The UCSF Police Department will request fire prevention and protection services from
the UCSF Campus Fire Marshall. These services will include:
1. Annual inspect ion of law enforcement building
2. A review of fire plan and evacuation procedures
3. Testing of all firefighting and detection equipment at least bi -annually
4. Technical advice in establishing procedures for ensuring fire depart ment
assistance in the event of a fire.
B. Firefighting equipment, including extinguishers, will be readily available throughout the
law enforcement building s. All exits will be distinctly marked, illuminated and free of
obstacles.
C. A minimum of one fire drill annually will be conducted to ensure that all personnel are
capable of carrying out fire plans and procedures in a minimum amount of time. These
fire drills will be documented and evaluated by the UCSF Campus Fire Marshall.
D. Upon conclusion of the annual fire drill, the UCSF Campus Fire Marshall prepares a
memorandum noting that a fire drill was conducted and noting any problems incurred
during the drill. (Every attempt must be made to correct any problems that were
identifie d in the evacuation.)
