University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 5.2 Criminal Investigations: Operations 5.2.11 Investigative Inter/Intra -agency Task Force (Revised: 8/1/14) A. It is the FSD Captain’s responsibility to develop and direct inter - and intra -agency investigative task forces initiated by UCSF Police Department; however, consideration shall be given to available staffing, nature of criminal activity, probability of successful prosecution and availability of funds for needed equipment and resources prior to committing to a specific task force. B. The FSD Captain will evaluate overall effectiveness of the particular operation and develop additional investigative plans, as needed. C. The In vestigations Lieutenant will record and report expenditures used during the course of an investigation and shall advise the FSD Captain of any special funding, equipment or staffing needs that may be required for the particular investigation. D. Inter - or intra-agency task forces may be implemented on any investigation on the basis of frequency, scope and jurisdictional boundary. Authorization to develop and implement a task force will be the decision of the Chief of Police.
