University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Order s 5.2 Criminal Investigations: Operations 5.2.9 Polygraph as an Investigative Tool (Revised: 7/18/18) A. Polygraph services that may be needed during the course of a criminal investigation may be obtained through a certified polygraph er. B. Polygraph examinations shall not be used without the consent of the person on whom the examination is to be conducted. C. The Investigations Commander will assist the patrol officers in scheduling the exam. D. Candidates for employment/current employees shall not be required to take a polygraph test as a condition of employment.
