University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 1 5.1 Criminal Investigations: Organization and Administration 5.1.1 Criminal Investigation Function (Issued: 6/25/07) In the Police Department, the criminal investigative function is a significant and integral part of the investigation of crime. It is the function of the Investigations Unit to complete follow -up investigations of all felony/serious crimes committed upon persons and property affiliated with the UCSF community. Detectives will, unless otherwise needed, be non -uniformed personnel and will investigate crimes as they are assigned.
