University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 1 4.19 Prisoner Transportation: Transport Operations 4.19.11 Transport to Medical Facilities (Revised: 2/16/17) A. When a prisoner is transported to SFGH for treatment or assessment for booking at the County Jail, the following will apply: 1. The officer shall ensure the prisoner is sufficiently isolated from other patients and not left unattended or permitted to escape the officer’s immediate control. 2. If the prisoner is admitted, the transporting officer shall notify the Watch Com mander. 3. The transporting officer will not leave the medical facility until relieved by another officer or directed to by Watch Commander. 4. The transporting officer will remove the restraints only when it is necessary and requested by the medical staff . 5. When a prisoner is medically cleared to be booked, the officer will immediately take the prisoner to the County Jail for booking.
