University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 4.19 Prisoner Transportation: Transport Operations 4.19.10 Transport to Other Detention Facilities (Issued: 6/25/07) The transporting officer will be aware of and follow the procedures at state institutions , SFGH, mental health hospitals and county correctional facilities. The following policy will apply to all detention facilities: A. The transporting officer will not enter a secure or receiving area with firearm, baton, oleoresin capsicum spray, knife or other weapon(s)/contra band(s). B. The transporting officer will advise the receiving officer of any potential medical or security issues. C. Restraints will onl y be removed when instructed to do so by the receiving officer. D. The transporting officer will be responsible for the exchange of all necessary signatures and paperwork for the transfer.
