University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 4.18 Traffic Ancillary Services 4.18.1 General Assistance to Motorists (Issued: 6/25/07) A. Because of the overall danger to stranded motorists and other drivers, officers will offer reasonable assistance at all times to a motorist who appears to be in need of aid. This will apply at all hours of the day, but particularly during nighttime hours when hazards are greater. B. Officers should be constantly alert for motorists who appear to need assistance. Officers shall freely provide information and directions upon request. In an effort to better serve citizens, officers should not only become familiar with the streets and services of the University, but also the various services and facilities available in the area.
