University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 4.17 Traffic Direction and Control 4.17.8 Law Enforcement Escorts (Issued: 6/25/07) In the event of an emergency or an unusual circumstance, escorts shall be provided at the direction of the Watch Commander. Officers shall not provide escorts to private vehicles during medical emergencies. Escorts for emergency vehicles generally shall not occur, except in when emergency vehicle requests help in finding a location or there is a malfunction of an emergency vehicle’s emergency lig hts and/or siren.
