University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 4.15 Traffic Law Enforcement 4.15.15 Pedestrian and Bicycle Enforcement (Revised: 9/26/22 ) A. Pedestrian and bicycles are occasionally involved in collisions with motor vehicles. Often these incidents result in injury or death to the pedestrian or bicyclist. In an effort to reduce the number of occurrences, it is the policy of the Police Department to actively enforce all applicable laws and ordinances pertaining to pedestrian and bicycle traffic enforcement. B. Where crashes involvin g bicycles occur, the investigating officer should take enforcement action in accordance with the CVC. C. Citizen complaints received involving pedestrians and bicyclists shall be assigned to the designated COPPS officer in whose area the hazard occurs. O fficers shall patrol the area in an effort to reduce the number of violations.
