University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 1 4.7 Patrol Operations: Vehicle Equipment and Uniform 4.7.1 Patrol Vehicle Marking (Revised: 5/24/23 ) Patrol vehicles must be conspicuously marked and readily identifiable as law enforcement agency vehicles from every view and from a long distance, even at night. Patrol vehicle markings shall include: A. Paint coloration scheme consisting of a black background with white lettering . B. A rooftop light bar with red and blue lights or grill -mounted and rear deck -mounted red and blue lig hts. C. The word “POLICE ,” in white reflective lettering on the sides of the vehicle. D. The emergency telephone number “9 -1-1” in white reflective lettering located on the right and left rear sides of the vehicle . E. The University of California Police star on each front door. The star sh all be of a reflective material . F. The words, “ UC San Francisco,” in white reflec tive letters on each side of the vehicle. G. The words “UCSF” and “Police” on the rear of the vehicle in white reflec tive lettering, along with the phone number to UCSF P olice Department Dispatch. H. The vehicle number in white lettering on the right rear hatch glass or window and on the lower left corner of the windshield.
