4.4 Bloodborne Pathogen Rule/Exposure Control Plan
4.4.5 HIV and HBV Research Laboratories and Production Facilities (Revised: 2/1/09)
There are special requirements for HIV and HBV research laboratories and production facilities
in the areas of construction, engineering controls, work practices, the use of containment
equipment, as well as employee seducation and training. Since UCSF Pol ice is not attached to
one of these types of operations, these spe cial requirements do not apply. Therefore, this
exposure control plan does not address these requirements.
