University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 3.43 Internal Affairs Investigations 3.43.3 Polygraph Use in Internal Affairs Investigations (Issued: 6/25/07) A. Per Section 3307 of the Government Code, no sworn peace officer employee is required to submit to a polygraph test for continued employment. B. Polygraph examinations, or any other test designed to detect deception, should not be used in the personnel co mplaint investigation process, unless voluntary compliance is obtained.
