University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 3.38 Promotion: Administrative Practices and Procedures 3.38.2 Review and Appeal Process (Issued: 6/25/07) A. Personnel are permitted to review and appeal decisions concerning their eligibility for appointment to promotional vacancies. Inquiries and appeals may be submitted to the Chief of Police. The decision of the Chief of Police is final. B. Procedures for the review and appeal of adverse decisions are outlined as follows: 1. Candidates are permitted to review the questions and answer key to written examinations unless prohibited by copyright provisions, etc., 2. Candidates are permitted to review the written results of scored elements of the selection process, 3. Personnel failing to meet eligibility requirements o r who are not successful in the promotional process are permitted to reapply for future openings and, if qualified, retest during future promotional opportunities.
