3.37 Promotion: Professional and Legal Requirements
3.37.6 Use of Eligibility Lists (Revised : 2/2/11 )
A. The candidates on the lists will be considered for promotional opportunity by the Chief of
Police.
B. Eligibility list duration shall be at the discretion of the Chief of Police and shall not
exceed a period of 12 months, unless extended based upon operational need.
C. The Chief of Police may select from any of the candidates eligible for promotion.
D. A written notice shall accompany appointmen t decisions.
E. The PSD Commander shall review the promotional process with the Chief of Police
annually and revise it as necessary.
