University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 1 3.34 Training: In -Service Briefing and Leadership Training 3.34.5 Accreditation Training (Revised: 2/13/25) A. Familiarization with Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) a ccreditation will be presented: 1. To all newly hired agency personnel within thirty days after their employment begins or within thirty days after completing the recrui t academy 2. To all agency personnel during the self -assessment phase associated with achieving the initial accreditation . B. Familiarization with a ccreditation will include: 1. The history and background of accreditation 2. The accreditation process 3. The goals and objectives of accreditation 4. The advantages of accreditation and its impact on the agency. C. Familiarization with a ccreditation will be accomplished by such means as: 1. Classroom instruction, online training, newsletter, memorandum, email and periodic attendance by staff at CALEA meetings. D. The CALEA Accreditation Manager shall receive specialized accreditation manager training within one year of being appointed and shall be responsible for providing appropriate training to other agency personnel assigned to the accreditation process.
