University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 3.30 Training: Organization and Administration 3.30.7 Training Lesson Plans and Approval (Revised: 8/20/19 ) All in -service training shall have an approved lesson plan, submitted prior to presenting the training, to include the specific performance objectives. A. Lesson plans are to be submitted to the PSD Commander and reviewed as outlined in General Order 3.30.6, “Training Performance Objectives” prior to the scheduled training. The course curriculum and performance objectives shall i nclude all of the following : 1. Purpose of instruction 2. Clearly stated performance objectives 3. Training materia l related to critical job tasks 4. Statement of the instru ctional technique(s) to be used 5. List of case law or other legal findings in support of requirements 6. List of participants’ responsibilities for material taught 7. Statement explaining whether or not a Certificate of Completion is to be provided upon a participant’s completion of the training 8. Evaluation plan. B. Lesson plans for POST -mandated training will be in compliance with the POST Administrative Manual . C. Lesson plans will ensure subject s to be covered are addressed completely and accurately and are properly sequenced with other training materials. D. Lesson plans will be required of all departmental instructors and requested from non - departmental instructors. E. A copy of lesson plans will be maintained by the PSD. F. All lesson plans will be approved prior to the training, as outlined in General Order 3.30.6, “Training Perfo rmance Objectives.”
