University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 3.28 Selection: Occupational Qualifications 3.28.4 Psychological and Medical Examination Records (Revised: 8/9/22 ) A. All pre -employment or promotional psychological and medical evaluation records will be maintained in a locked and confidential file , separate from personnel records, by the Office of the Chief or the designated Department employee . Pre -employment and promotional psychological and medical examination records are strictly confidential and may be accessed only with the expressed permission of the Chief of Police. B. The r esults of applicant s’ psychological and medical examinations shall be retained by the Department for a minimum of five years or, if hired, for as long as employed by the Department. The Office of the Chief or the designated Department employee shall be responsible for maintaining psychological and medical examinatio n results, keeping them with the background investigation package s. Complete psychological and medical reports are maintained on file by the psychological and medical service providers that conducted the examinations.
