University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 3.28 Selection: Occupational Qualifications 3.28.3 Psychological Evaluation and Examination by a Qualified Psychologist (Issued: 6/25/07) All Police Department prospective sworn personnel and Emergency Communications Center dispatchers must successfully complete a psychological examination, after they have received a conditional job offer and prior to their employment start date. All psychological evaluations will be conducted, at no cost to the prospective candidates, in compliance with the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act. A. After a candidate has successfully passed a background investigation and received a conditional job offer, contingent upon successfully meeting the physical and psychological requirements for the position, s/he w ill undergo a psychological evaluation by a qualified psychiatrist or psychologist. B. The psychiatrist or psychologist will test and assess the candidate’s emotional stability and psychological fitness relative to successful performance in the position fo r which they are being considered.
