University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 3.24 Selection: Professional and Legal Requirements 3.24.3 Recruitment and Selection Manual (Issued: 6/25/07) The Police Department utilizes information and requirements from three sources in preparing and presenting any recruitment process: A. The University of California San Francisco Staffing, Classification and Compensation Guidelines provide general recruitment guidelines for all university selection processes. B. The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training rules pertaining to recruitment and selection specifies requirements for Police Officers and Police Dispatchers in the State of California. C. The Police Department maintains specific recruitment and selection procedures in General Order # 3.17, “Recruitm ent: Administrative Practices and Procedures” through # 3.29, “Selection: Probationary Periods.”
