3.23 Recruitment: Application Process
3.23.4 Outside Recruiting (Issued: 6/25/07)
In order to attract a diverse group of qualified candidates, the Police Department advertises at a
minimum throughout the State of California. Advertising may also be extended throughout the
western region, the United States and/or directed toward particular minority populations as
needed to help meet desired Police Department and community diversity goals. Outside
recruiting methods are described in General Orders 3.1 9, “Community Outreach;” 3.19.2,
“Community Job Announcements” and specifically 3.22.3, “Mass Media Advertising.”
