3.7 Compensation, Benefits and Conditions of Work: Compensation
3.7.2 Salary Compensation (Revised: 7/7/20 )
The elements of the salary program are determined by the UCSF Human Resources Department
and UC Office of the President.
A. Entry -level salaries are outlined in the current UCSF Title and Pay Plan.
B. Salary differentials within and between ranks are also outlined in the UCSF Title and Pay
Plan.
C. Eligibility for merit increases, shift differentials and performance awards is determined in
accordance with existing University policies and labor agreements.
D. Additional c ompensation for Police Officer special assignments requiring special skills
and for POST certification shall be give n according to Univer sity policy, Department
policy and/or labor agreements applicable to Police Officers. Additional compensation
for Sergeants shall be given according to University policy, Department polic y and/or
labor agreements applicable to Sergeants.
E. POST Intermediate and Advanced incentive pay awards are not cumulative, nor do they
apply when a specific POST certification is a minimum job requirement.
F. Overtime is compensated as required by app licable University policies and/or labor
agreements. The UCSF Police Department also offers compensatory time in lieu of pay
for overtime, to police officers, pursuant to the FUPOA Labor Agreement.
