3.6 Allocation and Distribution of Personnel and Personnel Alternatives:
Non-sworn Personnel
3.6.11 Public Safety /Health Safety Ambassador Uniforms (Revised: 11/7/22 )
A. Public Safety Ambassador Uniform
1. The following public safety ambassador uniform items will be issued by the
Department :
a. 2 navy blue blazers with division patch embroidered on breast pocket
b. 1 navy blue sweater vest or long -sleeved sweater, to be worn under the
blazer only
c. 3 pairs of na vy blue pants, either with small cargo zip pocket or texturized,
woven (lightweight)
d. 3 white dress shirts (no design)
e. 1 gold -colored tie bar (optional, as requested by employee)
f. UCSF Police Department Contact Cards
2. The following uniform items will be supplied by the employee :
a. Black socks
b. Black, s mooth, clean and polished shoes
c. Black leather belt, 1 -1/2” wide with silver -colored buckle (smooth, no
basket -weave)
d. White crew -neck undershirt.
B. Health Safety Ambassador Uniform
1. The following health safety ambassador uniform items will be issued by the
Department :
a. 1 black jacket with division badge embroidered on the chest (no patches
on sleeves)
b. 3 pairs of navy blue pants with small cargo zip pocket
c. 3 white uniform shirts with round embroidered patch (no patches on
sleeves, no shoulder tabs)
d. 1 pair of anti -needle stick protective gloves (e.g., Turtleback)
e. UCSF Police Department Contact Cards
2. The following uniform items will be supplied by the employee :
a. Black socks
b. Black, polishable shoes or boots
c. White crew -neck undershirt.
C. Public safety /health safety ambassadors shall not wear the approved uniform or any
recognizable portion thereof in any off -duty capacity.

D. Personnel who choose to wear the uniform while traveling to and from work shall
conceal all recognizable parts of the uniform with a jacket or some alternative outer
garment.
