2.2 Written Directives
2.2.2 Staff Review of Directives (Revised : 12/13/23 )
A. All proposed General Orders and Rules of Con duct will be disseminated to appropriate
members of Command S taff for review prior to issuance. Command S taff includes the
Chief of Po lice, Captains, Lieutenants , Business Manager , Technical Services Division
Director and Chief of Staff . Members of Command Staff assigned to review p roposed
orders and policies will complete the review and return comments to the PSD
Commander or designee within 30 days. Alternatively, proposed orders and policies may
be reviewed and discussed during a management staff meeting.
B. All other directives will be reviewed by the issuing authorit y, the Chief of Police and the
PSD Commander as appropriate.
C. The review and comment process should reflect input from personnel groups directly
affected by the directive.
