University of California, San Francisco Police Department General Orders 1.1 Law Enforcement Role and Authority: Law Enforcement Agency Role 1.1.2 Oath of Office (Revised: 10/18/10) All new University of California, San Francisco Police Department sworn personnel are required to read, understand, sign and commit to upholding an Oath of Office. The Oath of Office will usually be presented, read and signed during the swearing -in ceremon y and/or orientation week(s) for each personnel. The Oath of Office is: “I do solemnly swear that I will abide by and support the Constitution and laws of the United States; the Constitution and laws of the State of California; and the Rules and Regulatio ns of The Regents of the University of California; and I will faithfully discharge the duties of my (office or position) to the best of my ability.”
