capacity to operate de dicated emergency sections of the police and city hall facilit ies, including
the Communications Center , City EOC, Records Unit, and Property Unit . The generator will run

City yard personnel perform weekly inspections of the generator and maintain the fuel tank wit h
diesel fuel as needed. These inspections are documented on a weekly basis on TPD form 700 ,
which is located in the generator room . The system runs an automatic start once a week to
ensure the generator is operating efficiently . An annual operational load test is conducted at
least once a year . (An operational use of the emergency generator may substitute for this test
should a power outage occur. These events, including their cause and duration are documented
through the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) syst em.
A control panel located in the Communications Center signals when the generator is operating.
