SS454.1.2 ACCREDITATION STANDARDS This procedure pertains to the following CALEA Standards: N/A This p rocedure pertains to the following General Orders: N/A SS454.2 PROCEDURE A traffic hazard can be any of the following: a) A vehicle stalled in traffic lanes ; b) An object in the roadway ; c) A substance (i.e. wet or dry concrete, sand, oil, etc.) on the surface of the road ; d) Flooding ; and/or e) Malfunctioning traffic signals . SS454.2.1 CALL TAKING The call taker should determine the following information from the reporting party: a) Ask the location of the hazard, address/cross streets ; b) What type of hazard are they reporting ; c) If it involves a vehicle, ascertain a vehicle description and license plate if known. If given a plate, run it through CLETS ; d) Enter the call using the call ty pe “909T ”. SS454.2.2 DISPATCHING THE CALL Dispatch a Police Services Officer to handle the call. If a PSO is not available dispatch an officer .
