PS102 - Job Class Specifications and Description 1 PS102 JOB CLASS SPECIFICATION S AND DESCRIPTION
PS102.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this procedure is categorizing every job by class spec ification s on the basis of
duties, responsibilities, and qualification requirements. Its purpose is also to ensure job
descriptions are current and available to all personnel.

The class specification s of position s are maintained by the city’s Human Resources D epartment .
This information is accessible to all employees located on the Intranet. The class specification s
of each position outline the duties, responsibilities, and qualification requirements . Compensation
information for each position is also located on the Intranet.

PS10 3 REVIEW OF CLASS SPECIFICATIONS
The Professional Standards Division Lieutenant wi ll be the liaison with the city’s Human
Resources Department to ensure the development and maintenance of class specifications
accurately reflect the current duties, responsibilities, and qualification requirements for all
positions within the police department.
The department will conduct a review of class specifications in conjunction with recruitment
efforts. In addition, class specifications for all positions within the police department will be
reviewed at least every four years , and revised as needed upon review .
