Tobacco products may also be offensive to employees and the public. 1018.1.1 ACCREDITATION STANDARDS This section pert ains to the following CALEA Standards: (None applicable at this time.) 1018.2 POLICY Smoking and other use of tobacco products is not permitted inside department facilities or any department vehicle. It shall also be the responsibility of all employees to ensure that no person smokes or uses any tobacco product s inside department facilities and vehicles. No person shall smoke tobacco products within 20 feet of a main entrance, exit, or operable window of any public building (including any Department f acility), or buildings on the campuses of the University of California, California State University and California community colleges, whether present for training, enforcement, or any other purpose (Government Code § 7596 et seq.). Employees in uniform ar e also prohibited from smoking or using tobacco products while in public view.
