CATEGORY DATE ADOPTED LAST REVIEW NEXT REVIEW 4 01/24/2011 10/01/201 8 10/01/20 20 TUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT GENERAL ORDERS _______________________ 218 - Concealed Weapon License 1 POLICY 218 CONCEALED WEAPON LICENSE 218.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The Chief of Police is given the statutory discretion to issue a license to carry a concealed firearm to residents within the community (Penal Code § 26155 ). This policy will provide a writ ten process for the application and issuance of such licenses. Pursuant to Penal Code § 26160 , this policy shall be made accessible to the public. The Chief of Police has entered into an agreement with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to process all applications and licenses for the carrying of concealed weapons ( Penal Code § 26155(c) . Any resident requesting a license to carry a concealed weapon will be referred to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. 218.1.1 ACCREDITATION STANDARDS This policy pertains to the following CALEA Standards: None
