CATEGORY DATE ADOPTED LAST REVIEW NEXT REVIEW 4 01/24/2011 10/01/201 8 10/01/20 20 TUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT GENERAL ORDERS _____ _________________________ 214 - Administrative Communications 1 POLICY 214 ADMINISTRATIVE COMMUNICATIONS 214.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE Administrative communications of this Department are governed by the following policies . 214.1.1 ACCREDITATION STANDARDS This section pertains to the following CALEA standards: N/A 214.2 PERSONNEL INTER -COM’S Person nel Inter-Coms may be issued periodically by the Chief of Police to announce and document all promotions, transfers, hiring of new personnel, separations, personnel and group commendations, or other changes in status. Such information may also be distributed by email. 214.3 CORRESPONDENCE In order to ensure the letterhead and name of the department are not misused, all external correspondence shall be on department letterhead. All department lett erhead shall bear the signature element of the Chief of Police, and may be signed by a Bureau Commander or Division Commander . Personnel sh all use department letterhead only for official business , and with approval of their supervisor. 214.4 SURVEYS All surveys made in the name of the department shall be authorized by the Chief of Police or a Bureau Commander.
