I. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this order is to establish a list of authorized weapons and ammunition to be
used in the execution of dut ies by sworn members of the Temple Terrace Police
Department .
II. SCOPE:

A. Authorized Service Firearm
1. Glock Model .45
B. Authorized Alternate Duty Handgun
1. Double Action Glock Models with caliber .380 to .45
C. Authorized Secondary Service Firearm
1. Double Action Glock Models with caliber .380 to .45
D. Authorized Off -Duty Firearms
1. Inspected and Approved Double Action Firearm Calibers .380 to .45
E. Authorized Long Guns (Lethal and Less Lethal)
1. Inspected and approved 223/556 caliber AR -15 Platform Rifles for Lethal
Applications
2. Inspected and Approved 12-gauge , Pump Action, or Semi-Auto Shotguns for
Lethal
3. Inspected and approved 40mm launcher for Less Lethal Applications

F. Authorized Ammunition Brands
1. The current list of authorized ammunition includes:
a. Federal
b. Olin-Winchester
c. Remington -Peters
d. Hornady -Frontier
e. CCI-Speer
f. PMC -Eldorado Cartridge Company
2. Only department -issued or authorized ammunition brands may be used for practice
in a department -owned firear m.
3. Only department -issued ammunition will be carried in a firearm used as a service
firearm, alternate duty firearm, secondary service firearm, or off -duty firearm .
4. Only department -issued or authorized ammunition brands may be carried in a
firearm .
5. NO "H OT" OR "SPECIALITY" ROUNDS ARE AUTHORIZED FOR USE IN ANY OF
THE AFOREMENTIONED FIREARMS.
