I. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this policy is to establish a directive concerning members of the Surfside Police
Department’s interactions with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and appropriate
policies and procedures for interviewing victims, suspects, or defendants with autism spectrum
disorder.
