DEFINITIONS: CID: Criminal Investigations Unit; comprised of GIU and SIU. Discerning Level of Confidence: Any comment made by the witness/victim during the entire process shall be carefully documented word-for-word. Any non-verbal communication or action of the witness/victim shall also be noted in the administrator’s notes. For example, “Upon viewing the photograph number four, the witness stated, ‘That’s the one. He’s the one who told me he was going to kill me,’ and the witness/victim began crying.” Filler Photos: Photographs of persons other than the suspect, used to complete a photo array and bring the total number of photos in the array up to a minimum of six photos. GIU: General Investigations Unit. Independent Administrator: Personnel conducting a photographic lineup not associated with the case, nor knowing who in the lineup may be the subject and/or person of interest. Live Line-up:
