patrol issues as Domestic Violence, Alarm Calls, Missing Persons, Death
Investigations, and Courtesy Checks. As used in this General Order, the word
“patrol” should be considered in its broadest sense. Patrol is considered a primary
law enforcement function and embraces much more than the act of patrolling. It is
defined as a generalized function in which officers engage in a wide variety of law
enforcement activities.
