Published with permission by Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Health Care Administrative Meetings and Reports - 1 Policy 700 Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Custody Manual Health Care Administrative Meetings and Reports 700.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office recognizes that the delivery of effective health care requires open and frequent communication between the Adult Custody Health Services Executive Director and the Assistant Sheriff of Custody Operations or the authorized designee. This policy provides guidelines for the continuous monitoring, planning, and problem resolution in providing health care that addresses the medical needs of the incarcerated person population and prevents potential outbreaks of communicable and contagious illness. 700.2 POLICY It is the policy of the Office that the ACHS Executive Director shall meet continuously with the Assistant Sheriff of Custody Operations or the authorized designee. The ACHS Executive Director shall be required to submit a report addressing the effectiveness of the health care system, a description of any environmental or access issues that require improvement, and detail any progress that has been made in previously reported areas. The meeting shall be documented through formal minutes, which should include the names of attendees, and a list of the topics discussed. The minutes shall be retained in accordance with established records retention schedules. 700.2.1 STATISTICAL REPORTS In addition to the report described above, The Assistant Sheriff of Custody Operations or the authorized designee will review Adult Custody Health Services' annual written report on statistical summaries of health care and pharmaceutical services delivered.
