“MRE-CELL ULAR PH ONE PRE -FILL”
Over the years, cell phones have increased in use and have become the primary communication device for most
people in our community. Cell phones have also become the primary way Detectives contact victims, witnesses
and suspe cts during follow up investig ations. These same phone numbers can also provide valuable intelligence
in complex investigations and now with SPIDR Tech, will be the way we can provide valuable update
information to our crime victims.
Although convenient, the pre -fill function has cau sed a significant amount of old phone numbers to be
associated with entities in our system. To mitigate th is, the phone number portion of the pre-fill function from
MDT to MRE has been disabled for all entities and a cell numb er will be mandatory for all victims in a report .
OVERVIEW OF THE CHANGES IN MRE
The MR E and the MDT are in the process of being updated to include changes to how certain data is pre -filled
from the MDT to the MR E. The MRE update includes no longer pre -filling any phone numbers for any of the
Entity types into the MRE. The Cell Phone box o n the Victim Entity screen i s now a mandat ory fiel d as well .
The screen shot below is for a Victim Entity and shows the Cell Phone box now high lighted in blue indica ting
the field is mandatory. If the victim does not have a cell phone nu mber , enter 000 -000-0000. All other fields
will still be used for the pre -fill function.
