MDT 7.7 Software and Training

PSIT and Sustainment will be deploying a new version of the MDT. The overall look and feel of MDT 7.7 is
very similar to the current version MDT 7.5.
Below you will find a list of major changes that you will see in MDT 7.7 , as well as some reminders of current
functionality. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the changes.
Sign on Screen
When entering a password, there is now an option to the right of the password box that when selected, allows
the user to view the typed password , giving the user the opportunity to verify that the password has been
entered correctly.

UNIT STATUS and Queued Calls buttons have been removed due to versaterm no longer supporting
the functionality and focusing on the use of the STATUS SCREEN.
STATUS SCREEN
As a reminder , on the status screen users have the ability to search by UNIT TYPE , which filters and only
displays the UNIT TYPE that is selected. The user can also filter multiple coverage areas as well.

EXTERNAL LINKS BUTTON ADDED
This button allows the user to access multiple websites from one page by clicking on or touching the link on the
screen. If you have any issues with a particular link not working, please advise the Sustainment Team for
possible link updates in the configuration.

Query Response Key Words Highlighted
Upon querying a person on the MDT and viewing the RMS response, there are now keywords that are
highlighted in an effort to make them stand out. An example of words that have been added includes “GANG”,
“ASSAULTIVE”, “MENTALLY UNSTABLE” , and “GUN”.
Searching For Text in Response View
In the MDT Responses screen (F7) SELECT a response to conduct a search on. Press Ctrl+F on the
keyboard. The new Find Text form opens .

To perform a search, enter the text, the whole word, or a phrase that you want to search for into the text field.
The text must be exactly as it appears on the screen. For example, searching for Burglary Residence will not
find Burg Residence as it shows on the responses screen.

New Addition to Map Tab
When a user is logged onto Vmobile MDT on a mobile device as well as logged onto a MDT in a patrol car,
both icons will display on the MDT map. The vehicle MDT will display as normal with the unit identifier , and the
Vmobile will show with the unit identifier and the ABRA number displayed.
When clicking on a unit who is logged onto a MDT and a Vmobile, the unit's MDT and Vmobile will display.
Clicking on either icon will display the user's log on information.

When a user is logged onto the MDT and the Vmobile app at the same time, the map will display the location
of both the vehicle and the cell phone.

Map tab
Displays location of units along with their type and status, as well as calls including type and priority that match
the criteria from the Status Screen Coverage.
While on the map tab, users can click on the call number to view the call information.
