Work Release-Collections
Modifications
The purpose of this Order is to p rovide guidelines for modifyin g the dollar amounts
owed on Work Release Division accounts. I. Policy Statement
Modifications or adjustments ar e made in order to increase, red uce or eliminate a
charge. A modification is perfo rmed by applying the adjustment amount to a specific
charge, using the appropriate transaction code. II. Initiating Modifications
A. Modifications are initiated through information, which can b e received from
various sources. The following exam ples illustrate these sourc es:
1. Modification orders and jail commitments ar e prepared and re ferred
to the Work Release Facility by the courts. These orders can
increase or decrease the amoun t of time a participant must serv e
once accepted on Work Project, Al ternative Sentencing or a Home
Detention Program.
2. Alternative Sentencing and Work Release Division paperwork m ay
be referred to the Finance Uni t for adjustments; when a partici pant
is not accepted on, or expelled fr om the program, or incarcerat ed to
serve the remainder of his/her sentence.
3. Home Detention notifies t he Finance Unit when a program
participant has been removed an d transferred to serve the
remainder of their sentence in custody.
4. When the Collection Services Agent determines that a partici pant
does not have the ability to pay fees already charged to his/he r
account, he or she may perform an adjustment of all or part of the
balance.
III. Modifying Acc ounts Receivable
A. Modifications are made in the RevQ system by using specific transactions
based on an increase or decrease to the charges.

A. With any modification or adj ustment, a supporting explanatio n is added to
the comment screen of the accoun t, and written documentation is sent to
our archive system.
