Property Bureau Page 1 of 2 59/00.0 (REV 2/96) PROPERTY WAREHO USE INVENTORY The purpose of this order is to d escribe the procedure for main taining physical inventory of the Property Warehouse. I. Each Designated Area is to be Inventoried Annually A. Gun Room 1. The gun room inventor y shall be completed by March 31 in ord er to comply with Section 12028(d) PC which permits the destruction o f firearms during the month of July. 2. The gun room inventory shall include the date of the invento ry, the report or property number assigned to the firearm and a complet e description of the firearm. B. Money Room 1. The money room inventory sha ll consist of verifying the mone y record log entries to the physica l property. Any discrepancies will be researched by the property supervisor. C. Narcotics Room 1. The inventory work sheet use s the applicable shelf number as a heading. 2. Each shelf is then inventori ed in chronological order by rep ort or property number. D. Homicide Section 1. The homicide area s hall be inventoried dur ing the month of January. 2. The homicide area is separated into two sections. A specific ally designated set of shelves is used for homicides occurring durin g the current year. The rest of the homicide shelves contain case s prior to the current year. The beginning of the inventor y shall consist of pulling, rev iewing, and consolidating the cases from the previous year and relocati ng those cases with other homicide cases. 4. Conduct the inventory. Each s helf will be inventoried by rep ort number. E. Bicycle Room 1. Found bicycles do not need to be inventoried annually as the y are cleared entirely on a monthly basis. 2. Evidence bicycles and all other items stored in the bike roo m will be inventoried annually. Inventory these items by report or proper ty number. F. Other Storage Areas 1. Inventory each room 2. Inventory each shelf in chr onological order by report or pro perty number.
