Correctional Services Page 1 of 2 3/01.1 (Rev 10/16) Work Release OPERATIONS ORDER Program Participants with Active Warrants The purpose of this Order is to e stablish a process to address and rectify Sheriff’s Work Project participants wit h active warrants. I. Citable Misdemeanor Warrants A. The Interviewing Officer will c onfirm that the warrant is an active Sacramento County warrant, then: 1. Serve the warrant; 2. Issue a computer generated citation; 3. Have the participant si gn and date the citation; 4. Give the participant a copy of the citation; 5. Forward the citation to appr opriate court, along with the wa rrant abstract. II. Non-Citable Misdemeanor Warrants A. The Interviewing Officer will c onfirm that the warrant is ac tive and is listed in the system as a “No Bail”, “No O.R.”, “No 853.6”, “O.R Revok ed”, or similar language, then: 1. Advise the Booking Su pervisor of the warrant; 2. Advise the Front Counter Deputies of the warrant; 3. The Front Counter Deputies wi ll arrange for transportation t o the Main Jail for booking purposes; 4. Advise the participant the warr ant must be cleared prior to reapplying for Home Detention or Sheriff’s Work Project. III. Felony Warrants A. Advise the Front Counter Deputies of the warrant; 3. The Front Counter Deputies wi ll arrange for transportation t o the Main Jail for booking purposes. IV. Out-of-County Warrants A. The Interviewing Officer will c onfirm that the warrant is ac tive, then: 1. Felony Warrant a. Confirm that the issuing agen cy will extradite on the warran t; b. Advise the issuing agency to abstract the warrant to the Sacramento County Wa rrants Repository; c. Advise the Booking Su pervisor of the warrant; d. Advise the Front Counter Deputies of the warrant; e. The Front Counter deputies wi ll arrange for transportation t o the Main Jail for booking purposes. 2. Misdemeanor Warrant a. The Interviewing Officer will advise the participant to clea r the warrant with t he issuing agency. Appendices: None Related Orders: None References: None
