Injured Persons
The purpose of this Order is to establish procedures for respon ding to sick or injured person
calls at the Airport.
I. Policy
A. The Sacramento County Airport System Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting
(ARFF) is responsible for provi ding emergency medical response to
incidents on airport property.
B. Sheriff’s Airport Bureau pers onnel will respond to medical e mergency calls
when available. 1. In the event Deputies arrive on scene prior to medical perso nnel,
they will render first aid as neede d until medical personnel ar rive.
2. Deputies will provi de crowd control and a ssist ARFF or local Fire
Department personnel.
3. Deputies responding to traffic accidents involving injuries will
provide initial traffic contro l and first aid to help ensure th e safety of
the involved persons and res ponding personnel. Responding unit s
will assist ARFF/Fire and CHP a s needed after their arrival on
scene.
C. Sheriff’s Airport Bureau pers onnel will investigate and comp lete a
Casualty Report for any deaths tha t occur on Airport Property o r on
incoming flights, including thos e of apparent natural causes.
