Transactions with Prisoners
The purpose of this General Order i s to establish the policy fo r Department members
conducting business with prisoners or arrestees. I. Policy
A. No member of the Sheriff’ s Department shall, without the per mission of
the employee’s division comm ander, give any gift or present to a prisoner
or arrestee, or receive any gi ft or present from a prisoner or arrestee, or
have any barter or dealing wit h a prisoner or arrestee.
1. As an example, members of t he Department are not to sell any item
to prisoners or arrestees or buy any item from prisoners or
arrestees without the approval o f the employee’s division
commander.
