C-Cure System and Identification Card Protocol
The purpose of this General Order i s to establish procedures re garding the C-Cure
Proximity Card System, Departmen t building access and procedure s for obtaining that
access. I. Responsibility
A. The Commander of the Field Sup port Division shall be respons ible for
enforcement of C-Cure Card Syst em, building a ccess and procedur es
contained in this order.
B. The Commander of the Field Sup port Division shall be respons ible for
administration of the proximity card, hereafter known as the C- Cure Card
System. C-Cure Cards are pict ured identification cards with mi nute
computer chips that are program med to allow access to the major ity of
Department Facilities.
1. The Commander will designate a C-Cure System Coordinator
within the Field Support Divisi on. This assignment will genera lly be
the responsibility of the ser geant assigned to Field Support
Division. However, all new employ ees will initially be granted
twenty-four hour access by the Ad ministrative Division to all
Department Facilities defined by the Chief Deputy of Support
Services.
II. Procedures for Issuance of I dentification and C-Cure Cards
A. Department Identification Card s and C-Cure Cards shall be is sued utilizing
the following procedure:
1. All newly hired sworn personnel shall have a Building Securi ty
Badge/ Identification Card Reques t Form completed and signed by
the Commander of the Administra tive Division or the Human
Resources Manager. The newly hir ed sworn employee will report
to 711 G Street, 1st Floor Identification Stat ion to have their photo
taken. After their photo is tak en they will have their Departm ent
Identification Card and C-Cure Card issued. The new employee’s
Building Security Badge/ Identif ication Card Request Form will be
forwarded to the C-Cure System C oordinator who will activate an y
additional requested and appr oved special access.

2. All newly hired non- sworn per sonnel shall have a Building S ecurity
Badge/ Identification Card Reques t Form completed and signed by
the Commander of the Administra tive Division or the Human
Resources Manager. The newly h ired non-sworn employee will
report to 711 G Street, 1st Floor Identification Station to have their
photo taken. After their photo is taken they will have their
Department C-Cure Card issued. T he new employee’s Building
Security Badge/ Identification Card Request Form will be forwar ded
to the C-Cure System Coordinato r who will activate any addition al
requested and approved special access.
B. All newly hired employees, bot h sworn and non-sworn, shall b e emailed a
copy of General Order 17/01 (Rev 6 /18) at the time they are iss ued their
Identification Card (if applicabl e) and C-Cure Card for their r eview.
C. All Volunteers in Partnership with the Sheriff (VIPS) shall submit a
completed Building Security B adge/ Identification Card Request Form to
the Volunteer Bureau Services Coordinator. Depending on their
assignment, VIPS may have only an Identification Card to be use d solely
for identification pur poses while working within or around Depa rtment
facilities. If applicable, a Vol unteer may have a C-Cure Card issued with
the basic 24 hour access to Depar tment facilities as approved b y the
Volunteer Services Coordinator. A dditional attributes may be a pproved by
the Division Commander where the volunteer is assigned.
D. All requests for special access shall be forwarded to the Co mmander of
the Field Support Division by t he employee’s Division Commander and if
approved, implemented by the C- Cure System Coordinator.
1. The request for special access can be made in writing using the
Building Security Badge/ Identific ation Card Request Form or an
email sent to the C-Cure System Coordinator at
ccuresystem@sacsheriff.com .
E. All employees who have terminat ed employment with the Sacram ento
Sheriff’s Department for any reas on shall have their C-Cure Sys tem
access turned off by information technology staff within the Ad ministrative
Division.
1. If a Department employee has been placed on administrative l eave
by order of the Undersheriff or Sheriff, the affected employee’ s
respective Division Commander s hall notify the C-Cure System
Coordinator who shall disable t he employee’s C-Cure Card. The
affected employee’s respective Division Commander shall send an
email notification to all Div ision Commanders, the Employee
Relations Officer and the Human Resources Manager advising
them of the employee’s administr ative leave status. It shall b e the

facility security to ensure that they are advised of the employ ee
who is prohibited from enter ing Department Facilities.
a. If an employee from an out side agency who possesses a C-
Cure Card is placed on adminis trative leave or terminated
from County employment, the Commander of the Administrative Division sha ll notify the C-Cure System
Coordinator who will terminate the affected employee’s C-
Cure Card.
