Page 1 of 1 16/05 (REV 1/89) County Surplus Property The purpose of this General Order i s to establish the procedure for acquiring surplus property for departmental use from the County General Services Agency (GSA). I. General A. Detailed procedures for the mo vement or disposal of fixed as sets are contained in Chapter 14 of the C ounty Financial Policy and Proc edures manual (see General Order 16/02) . Property shall be released f or departmental use only. Accountabilit y for items acquired shall be the responsibility of the rece iving division commander II. Release of Property A. Office equipment, furniture, o r other property may be transf erred from surplus property to the Sheriff’ s Department after approval of the division commander or higher authority. III. Records A. Personnel at the surplus pr operty section will complete the necessary forms to transfer property to t he receiving division at the tim e of issue. This method will ensure that the proper officials are aware tha t surplus property was acquired and tha t the property will be included in the division’s inventory control list. B. Personnel receiving surplu s property will ensure that a co py of the equipment movement report is provi ded to the inventory control officer, Administrative Division
