CORRECTIONAL SERVICES Page 1 of 1 9/03 (REV 7/07) MJ/RCCC OPERATIONS ORDER General Waste Disposal The purpose of this Order is to standardize the procedures for general waste disposal at the Main Jail and at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC). I. General Waste A. All solid and liqui d waste shall be disposed of in accordanc e with federal, state, and local requirements. B. All waste will be stored, colle cted, or disposed of in a man ner which protects the health and safety of staff, the public, and prison ers. II. Waste Types A. Sewage and liquid waste are disposed of through sewer lines. B. Cooking grease and oil will be disposed of by kitchen staff by collecting the oily waste and placing it i n a container for disposal by an appropriate collection company. Kitchen wast e will be collected and dispose d of at least once per shift. C. All solid waste in the secured areas of the facility will be collected and disposed of by the inmate cleaning crew under the supervision o f the cleaning crew officer. D. All inmate workers will be st rictly supervised by sworn staf f. Random searches of the cleaning crew sha ll be conducted on a frequent basis. Appendices: None Related Orders: None References: None
